"The matrimonial covenant, by which a man and a woman establish between themselves a partnership of the whole of life, is by its nature ordered toward the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of offspring; this covenant between baptized persons has been raised by Christ the Lord to the dignity of a sacrament." CCC 1601
Marriage or Matrimony as it is more commonly called in the Catholic Church, is the sacrament by which a baptized man and a baptized woman unite themselves wholly to one another for the purposes of having children, building up the kingdom of God on earth and most importantly getting each other to Heaven.
Since the beginning of time, God has instilled a love of man and woman for one another in each other and while most would take that as a clear sign that they are called to the sacrament of marriage, it is important to remember that being called also requires a full and sacrificial commitment to another rather than just a mere attraction. In addition, someone called to marriage should constantly strive to want the best for others and their families.
May the peace of Christ be with you always.
